As the owner of a small business amidst the COVID-19 crisis, I quickly realised that we, the small business owners, needed to reconnect with the community to stay afloat. At the same time I saw communities struggling with basic needs and I knew they couldn't support us if we didn't support them. #ConnectYYC is a project that emerged from the need to intensify that connection, to link the small business community together with Calgarians to generate support for each other. It is designed to provide marketing material and opportunities for small businesses at a fraction of the typical cost, and at the same time give back to the residents of Calgary who are in dire need through donations to local charities. Help me bring awareness of the struggles and stories of those who fight for Calgary! Book a Connect YYC session today!
Calgary's economy has been facing difficulties for some time. Behind all of the challenges the small businesses have been trying to keep up, continually changing, adapting, and moving forward. But because they're small, they often appear invisible alongside the larger corporations.
It's time to help them out. This is a time of crisis, and they need all the love we can give them. They need to be noticed, to be supported and shown that they are important to our city and way of life.
I will do my part, providing marketing and opportunities to share their struggles, hopes and stories.
It is also time for small business to reach out to the communities and reciprocate support. The strength in connection comes not only with sharing stories and experiences, but with giving back to those who need it the most. That's why $5 from each session will go to a local charity that is in need during the crisis.
